How long Huntit keeps your data
Huntit keeps posts for 12 months, and nothing is cleaned up inside that window.
What the rule doesn't touch is your performance history. Badges, the win record and every profile's month-by-month history are kept in full, and a stored report is a frozen document that never changes.
Past 12 months it's individual old posts that go — and not the ones that won, were analyzed, or were marked a favorite.
What's kept past 12 months
A post older than 12 months stays, with its media, if any of these is true:
- it earned a winner badge (⭐ or 🔥) on either axis,
- you favorited it, or
- it has an AI analysis — an intelligence brief, a comments analysis, or a custom analysis.
If you want a specific post to survive past the year, even one that never earned a badge, favorite it and it stays.
Everything else — a post with no badge, no favorite and no analysis — is cleared once its year is up. It had its tracking life, it was never marked as significant, and after a full year it's retired.
Where the rule shows up
You never have to remember it. It appears at the three moments it matters:
- When you pick a period. The posts feed's Date popover and Settings → Export data carry one line with both facts — the rule, and how far your own data actually goes back: "Huntit keeps posts for 12 months — yours go back to 26 August 2025."
- Once a month, in the bell. If unprotected posts will cross the line within the coming month, a notification names how many and opens the feed on its Aging out within a month filter, oldest first. Nothing is sent when the count is zero.
- Before you remove the last protection. Un-favorite a post the favorite alone is keeping, and Huntit asks first: "This post is past 12 months, and the favorite is the only thing keeping it."
If you want a full copy of everything, you can export it at any time.
A post deleted on the platform
If a creator deletes a post at its source, it does not vanish from Huntit. Everything captured up to that point stays — the metrics already recorded, and any badges it earned, which stand.
Huntit can't read a post that no longer exists, so its record stops there. You keep how the post performed while it was live.
