Pausing tracking — client, brand, or profile

You can pause tracking at any level, and a pause genuinely stops new collection: no new posts are picked up until you resume.

Each level has its own switch in its Edit modal. Pause a client and everything under it stops, pause a brand and its profiles stop, pause a single profile and only that one stops.

How the three levels work together

A profile collects only when its own switch, its brand's and its client's are all on — like lights on one power strip.

  • Client — the status field (Active / Paused / Offboarded) is the switch for the whole client. Offboarded stops tracking exactly as Paused does and marks the relationship as ended; everything collected stays. Deleting a client is the separate, destructive action — see editing and removing.
  • Brand & creator — the Tracking toggle in Edit Brand pauses all of that brand's profiles, even while the client stays Active.
  • Profile — the Tracking toggle in Edit Profile pauses just that one.

The dot beside each name shows the result. Green means collecting now. Grey means paused, and the label names where the pause came from: "Paused" was set on this one directly, while "Client paused" and "Brand paused" point at a level above it.

Grey is always a deliberate choice, never a problem.

There's one other colour. An amber Needs attention dot means Huntit stopped collecting that profile on its own — not something you chose, and it has its own one-click fix; see a profile stopped collecting. Pausing outranks it, so a profile you switched off stays grey.

Two things to know before you pause

  • Posts published while paused are never collected. When you resume, Huntit picks up from that moment; it doesn't back-fill the gap. Everything collected before the pause stays.
  • Spend winds down over up to 30 days, not instantly. Posts already being tracked finish their remaining check-ins, so you'll see a small tail of activity after pausing. Nothing new starts — that tail is only what was already in flight.

Resuming — who comes back on

Resuming a client, or a brand, brings back exactly the profiles it paused. Anything you paused on its own — a single profile, or a brand under that client — stays paused until you switch it back yourself.

You can also set a profile or a brand to Active while its parent is still paused. The switch stores your intent, the dot keeps showing the parent's pause, and collection starts the moment the parent resumes. No second visit needed.

Adding under a paused parent

A paused parent takes no new children. While a client is Paused or Offboarded you can't add brands or profiles under it, and a paused brand can't take new profiles.

Adding a profile starts a billed historical collection, so blocking it keeps "paused" meaning what it says.
