A profile stopped collecting
When a profile carries an amber dot and Needs attention, Huntit is no longer collecting it. New posts aren't being found, its winners aren't being recalibrated, and its follower count isn't refreshing.
That's why the state is shown rather than kept quiet: a profile that has quietly stopped would otherwise look like a profile with nothing to report.
It appears wherever profiles do — the Profiles table, a brand's profile list, and the profile's own page, which also carries a short note explaining what happened.
What Huntit tells you
The note leads with what happened, then names the cause. There are three leads, because three different things can go wrong.
"Huntit has stopped collecting this profile." — a collection that was running and stopped: some of its past posts couldn't be collected. Everything already gathered stays.
"Huntit didn't finish setting up this profile." — it stopped partway through collecting its posts, so the history is incomplete rather than absent.
"This profile's check didn't finish." — the checks that confirm an account can be tracked gave up, usually on a temporary problem.
All three end in the same place: Huntit won't keep retrying on its own. By the time the amber dot appears, we've already tried and stopped — the profile has dropped out of the routines that would pick it back up, so nothing changes until you act.
Try collecting again
The profile's own page carries a Try collecting again button. One click restarts the collection — the button then goes away for everyone on your team, in every tab, and the card says a restart is running and that you'll be notified when the profile is ready.
It is safe. The button replays the profile's original submission: it keeps every post already collected, creates no duplicate, and deletes nothing.
Pressing again in the next few minutes is refused rather than started twice — one press, one paid collection.
If we can't collect from that platform right now, the button is replaced by a line saying so — it comes back once we can.
You never need to delete the profile and add it back. Doing that would cost you everything it had already gathered.
Paused is not the same thing
A profile you switched off yourself keeps its grey Paused badge — pausing always outranks this state, so "Needs attention" never appears on something you deliberately turned off. Grey is your choice; amber is Huntit telling you something needs you. See pausing tracking.
If it keeps happening
If a profile goes amber again shortly after you restart it, the account itself is usually the reason — it may have gone private, been renamed, or stopped posting. Open it in a browser and check before restarting again.
When the account looks fine and the profile still won't collect, request support — that's the point where something on our side is worth a look.
