Roles — who can do what
Huntit has four roles: owner, manager, member and viewer.
A role decides what someone can do, never what they can see. Everyone sees every client, and there's no way to limit a person to certain ones.
The owner decides what managers and members may each do, from a list of 17 permissions, on the Permissions half of Settings → Members & roles.
Manager and member are two independent lists. Huntit pre-ticks a recommendation, and the owner changes whatever they want.
A viewer can see almost everything and change nothing. It is a staff seat — an intern, a freelancer — not a seat for someone on your client's side, because a viewer still sees every client.
What stays with the owner
Two things can never be handed over: transferring ownership and editing the two permission lists.
Three more are offered in both lists and pre-ticked in neither, so they stay with the owner until they are deliberately granted: deleting a client, managing provider keys, and downloading the full export.
Everything else is delegable — inviting teammates, changing someone's role, editing the custom-analysis prompt, offboarding a client, deleting brands and profiles, and the rest.
Changing who the owner is
Ownership can be handed to another member from inside the app, with no support ticket.
Open Settings → Members & roles, find the person's row, open its ⋯ menu and choose Make owner. A confirm step spells out the consequence:
They take over what only an owner can do — transferring ownership, turning scraping on, and deciding what each role is allowed to do. [Name] becomes a regular member. Clients keep their current account managers.
The old owner immediately becomes a regular member. Clients keep their account managers — ownership is about agency-level controls, not who receives which notifications.
A few honest details
The transfer happens quietly. The new owner isn't emailed and gets no bell notification, because the change is meant to happen inside a conversation between two people at the same agency.
The record of it is your success toast, plus the entry in Settings → Activity log — see editing and removing for that log.
The reversal is one-directional: once ownership flips, only the new owner can hand it back. The moment it changes, the previous owner loses the ⋯ actions.
If the owner has left the agency and is unreachable, Huntit support can perform the transfer for you — the sanctioned fallback for that rare case.
